Where Are The Lines?

1 Corinthians 6:9-12: "9 Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, 10 nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God.11 And such were some of you. But you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus and by the Spirit of our God. 12 All things are lawful for me, but all things are not helpful. All things are lawful for me, but I will not be brought under the power of any."

Paul stated here in verse 12 that all things were lawful to him but not helpful. The old KJV says: expedient. When Christians believe that because they are saved by the grace of God that they can still live like they want- they think that all things are lawful and still fall under God's grace. When this happens lines become blurred. In the natural, when our vision is blurred, of course we can't see clearly. This happens in the spirit to many Christians. Then they find themselves in areas that they don't belong. The enemy blurs the line between righteousness and unrighteousness. And many of us are not praying enough to see the line clearly anymore.  We start making excuses for why we crossed over the line.

1 Timothy 4:1-5 tells us that in the last days especially that many will leave the faith and give themselves to deceiving spirits. The boundaries and lines that God has placed for our good become blurred. 1 Corinthians 6:18-20 tells us to run away from sexual immorality. If ever a line has become blurred this day in the Christian community- this one has. The world tells us if it feels good, just do it. Many have fallen into the lie of the enemy that living together without the bonds of marriage is okay today. Or if they get tired of their spouse, they just divorce and find another one. Swapping spouses, pornography, affairs, etc. run rampant in the church today. They think that the mind of God has changed somewhere along the way. But God's word stands as true today as it ever did. God does not lie and doesn't change His mind to accommodate our worldly lifestyle.

Worse than this, is that sometimes the ministry- which is supposed to be examples to the church-- doesn't make the lines clear either. They don't want to offend anyone, so they turn a blind eye to the sexual immorality that goes on right in the church.

Proverbs 22:28  "Do not remove the ancient landmark Which your fathers have set. "

God help us all!
