"What is God Saying When We Aren't Listening"

Hebrews 2:1-3:
"1
Therefore we must give the more
earnest heed to the things we have heard, lest we drift away.
2
For if the word spoken through
angels proved steadfast, and every transgression and disobedience
received a just reward,
3
how shall we escape if we neglect so
great a salvation, which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord,
and was confirmed to us by those who heard Him"
How many times is God speaking to us but we aren't listening. And even when we do hear Him, we don't really listen to what He told us. We need to "give the more earnest heed to things we have heard"-- lest we drift away.
We must turn off all the other noises and voices that are going on the world today: the news, media, people, etc. We must spend some time alone with God in order to hear Him. Elijah had to learn this. (I Kings 19:11-12). He learned that it wasn't in all the noise and the thunder- but it was in the "still small voice" of God- (a delicate whispering voice). When our minds and our spirits become so overwhelmed with all that is going on around us, we are unable to hear the voice of God.
We must be sure that we are paying attention to what God is saying. Give heed!
Isaiah 40:31:
"But those who wait on the Lord Shall
renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They
shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint."
