The Perfect Man
Ephesians 4:11-14--
11
And He Himself gave some to be apostles,
some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, 12
for the equipping of the saints for the
work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ, 13
till we all come to the unity of the
faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the
measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ; 14
that we should no longer be children,
tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the
trickery of men, in the cunning craftiness of deceitful plotting,
1 Corinthians 13:10-12

But when that which is perfect has come, then that which is in part will be done away. 11
When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I
understood as a child, I thought as a child; but when I became a man, I
put away childish things. 12
For now we see in a mirror, dimly, but
then face to face. Now I know in part, but then I shall know just as I
also am known.
Galatians 4:1-7
1
Now I say that the heir, as long as he
is a child, does not differ at all from a slave, though he is master of
all, 2
but is under guardians and stewards until the time appointed by the father. 3
Even so we, when we were children, were in bondage under the elements of the world. 4
But when the fullness of the time had come, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the law, 5
to redeem those who were under the law, that we might receive the adoption as sons. 6
And because you are sons, God has sent
forth the Spirit of His Son into your hearts, crying out, "Abba,
Father!" 7
Therefore you are no longer a slave but a son, and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ.
Repeat
after me: "I am not a child". We should no longer be children in our
walk with the Lord. We are to be changed into a 'perfect'-- mature --
man.
We
say many times that we can't do things. But God wants us to grow up
into that perfect man and do the things he has equipped us to do.
